The Rio 2016 Organizing Committee promised “radical measures” to deal with the green water at the Olympic Park’s aquatics center, including draining some of it later this evening.“We’re moving to a more radical approach,” Rio 2016 spokesman Mario Andrada told reporters Saturday.
“Part of the water in the main pool will be replaced later in the evening.”
Rio officials will hold a news conference Saturday afternoon to elaborate on the water issue at the water polo and diving pools, which has become a high-profile embarrassment for the organizers of the Rio Games.
